Mr CHEUNG Kin-fai is currently the Chairperson of Rehabilitation Alliance Hong Kong and The Joint Council for People with Disabilities. He is currently working for the Department of Health and is enthusiastic in community work. Championing the cause of the disabled, he has committed himself to advancing their rights and calling for the provision of a barrier-free environment to allow the disabled more convenient access to public buildings.
Starting from 2000, he has served as Member of the Organising Committee for Hong Kong Abilympics that showcases the vocational skills of people with disabilities. Since 2003, he has been appointed Team Leader of the Hong Kong Delegation of the International Abilympics, helping the delegates to demonstrate their vocational talents alongside competing teams from around the world at the annual event.
Mr Cheung has served as Member of the VTC Committee on Vocational Training for People with Disabilities since 2008, where he actively supports the Council’s endeavour in promoting and developing vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities. He also contributes insightful advice and ideas regularly to the Shine Skills Centre to improve its vocational training programmes and services for people with special educational needs.
Mr Cheung was presented the Outstanding Disabled Person Award in 1990 and the Medal of Honour by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2000 in recognition of his contribution to the community.
