He is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for International Development of the Coventry University, United Kingdom with broad responsibility for developing overseas partnerships and promoting student and staff exchange. Prior to this, Dr Pilsbury was the founding Chief Executive of the Worldwide Universities Network. He was also the Head of Research Policy for the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Under Dr Pilsbury’s leadership, Coventry University has been VTC’s major strategic partner since 2008 in realising the Council’s goal to extend the value chain of vocational education and training. Coventry University has opened up ample opportunities for the VTC Higher Diploma graduates to articulate to degree qualifications through top-up degree programmes jointly offered with the VTC. In the past two years, reciprocal study tours have been organised for students from both sides to experience the cultural difference. Coventry University has also been very supportive in facilitating VTC to attain accreditation of the joint programmes by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. |
