Mr WONG Kit-loongChief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Hong Kong Housing Society*Extract from Order of Ceremony 2017Mr WONG Kit-loong is Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Hong Kong Housing Society. He possesses over 30 years’ experience and extensive network in the housing and property sectors. Mr Wong is member of numerous professional bodies, including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Hong Kong Institute of Housing, Chartered Institute of Housing, and Registered Professional Housing Manager. He was previously Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Asian Pacific Branch, and Vice Chairman of the Housing Managers Registration Board. Mr Wong is very supportive in public services and was appointed to various government boards and committees. He was previously Council Member of Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies from 2000 to 2005, and Member of Land, Rehousing and Compensation Committee from 2008 to 2011 of the Urban Renewal Authority. He is currently Member of the Property Management - Industry Training Advisory Committee of the Education Bureau, and Member of the Steering Committee on the Qualifications Framework Fund under the Education Bureau, Member of the Elderly Commission, as well as Member of the Task Force on Land Supply. In the academia, Mr Wong is especially supportive in apprenticeship training in Hong Kong. He is the immediate Past Chairman of the former Committee on Apprenticeship and Trade Testing. Under his Chairmanship, there was a steady growth in the number of registered apprentices, and Hong Kong Housing Society has become one of the most important partners of the VTC in apprentice employment. Mr Wong is one of the key supporters of the VTC Earn and Learn Scheme which has been redefining the landscape for apprenticeship training. Mr Wong also participated in academic advisory roles in other tertiary institutions such as HKU SPACE, SCOPE at City University of Hong Kong, The Open University of Hong Kong, as well as CUSCS of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. |
