    Dr Annie WU Suk Ching, SBS, JP

    Vice-Chairman of Beijing Air Catering Limited

    Dr Annie WU Suk Ching is a pioneer of the Hong Kong-Mainland air catering industry, together with her father Mr James T Wu, they set up the JV 001, Beijing Air Catering Limited in China in 1980. She is currently vice-chairman or managing director of more than 20 airline catering and food related companies in Hong Kong and the Mainland. She was awarded the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” in 1978 and the “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong” in 1990.

    She has made significant contributions to society particularly in women’s issues as well as education and development of young people. Dr Wu is enthusiastic in encouraging youngsters to better understand Chinese history and culture, and organises over one hundred cultural exchange programmes for more than 10,000 teenagers to know about the Chinese heritage. She is one of the founding members of the Pei Hua Education Foundation in 1982 and is one of the founders of the Hong Kong Federation of Women. She is Chairman of the Executive Committee of The Chinese History and Culture Educational Foundation for Youth and the Hong Kong Soong Ching Ling Children’s Foundation Ltd.

    During the period of 2000-2007, Dr Wu served VTC in various capacities. She was a VTC Council Member, member of the Standing Committee and the Chairman of the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute Training Board.

    Dr Wu is Member of the Standing Committee of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and serves on a number of public bodies. Dr Wu was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1997 and was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star in 1999 by the Government of the HKSAR.
