    Term / Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement;
    (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
    (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and
    (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Film and TV, Journalism, Music, Theatre, Technical Arts, Computer Science, Engineering, Game Design, Animation, Visual Effects, Creative Media, Digital Media, Multimedia, Entertainment Technology, Design, or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
    (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience, preferably at an appropriate level of responsibility;
    (c) Good teaching, administrative, interpersonal and team building skills;
    (d) Good communication and presentation skill in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;
    (e) Good records of linkage with industry / professional bodies would be an advantage; and
    (f) For Acting:
    Solid experience in one of the areas: drama acting, screen acting, non-drama performance, action / fight choreography. Solid skills on movement and physicality, voice and speech;
    For Vocal Performance:
    Solid experience in vocal performance, either for stage or studio recording, and solid skills in ear training and pitch development;
    For Music Production:
    Solid experience in pop song production. Proficiency with pop song arrangement, composition skills in different genres, and good at operating different digital audio workstations (DAWs). Expertise in pop song multi-track recording and mixing. A pop song production portfolio is required;
    For Animation Production:
    Proficiency with CGI Creation with one of the areas: 3D modeling, lighting, texturing, rigging, tracking, simulation, motion keying, compositing. Familiar with at least one of the software including Unreal Engine, Maya, After Effects, Blender, Substance Painter, ZBrush;
    For Show Production:
    Solid experience in one of the areas: Blender, Maya, Zbrush, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter, virtual production cinematography, and disguise;
    For Cinematography / Directing / Scripting:
    Solid experience in film / TV directing, producing, drama or non-drama script writing, cinematography and lighting;
    For Photography:
    Solid experience in studio photography, image retouching and colour management for still image. Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, and Capture One Pro;
    For Immersive Design:
    Experience in immersive or experience design. Good understanding of AR, VR and MR experiences. Experience in Vision Pro and knowledge of game engine (Unity), Interactive Media and game UX/UI, 3D/VR/AR;
    For Game Design:
    Proficiency in 3D/VR/AR game design, UX/UI design, game engines (e.g. Unity), and relevant industry-standard software is essential.  A strong understanding of gameplay elements like levels, maps, architecture, flow, metrics and pacing is crucial. Technical skills in implementation and scripting are necessary.  Knowledge of current game design trends and technologies is also desired. 3D modelling skill and/ or experience in using Generative AI for concept development is a plus;
    For Generative AI:
    Proficiency with Stable Diffusion and prompt engineering techniques.  Expertise in text-to-image, 3D model, music, video, and animation generation for media design. Strong knowledge of LoRA model training and its applications in media design;
    For Web and App design and development:
    Proficiency in web design (Figma) and app design (Flutterflow) is required. Essential skills include iOS development, machine learning, AR body tracking, Unity integration, IoT design, and Arduino programming. Basic Node.js, e-commerce experience, and data analysis (D3.js) are required. Familiarity with Three.js and A-Frame is a plus.
     
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with less relevant experience and/or qualification may be considered for the post of Term / Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”.
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and/or at different work locations on a need basis.
