Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform installation, preparation, operation and maintenance of equipment, instrument, laboratory kits, tools and facilities in laboratories, workshops, practical and any other teaching areas as required; |
|
(b) |
To assist in the procurement and control usage of equipment and materials, and inventory record keeping; |
|
(c) |
To assist teaching staff in organising, supervising and guiding students to perform experiments / practical work / projects; |
|
(d) |
To prepare and install software on PCs and computer - driven equipment and facilities; |
|
(e) |
To provide technical support to teaching staff and students during practical classes; and |
|
(f) |
To maintain the safety and tidiness of the studios / laboratories / workshops and assist in laboratory development. |

Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised diploma or higher certificate in Engineering discipline or equivalent; |
|
(b) |
At least 2 years’ of relevant work experience, preferably in laboratory and workshop settings within the fields of Mechanical or Building Services Engineering; |
|
(c) |
Practical knowledge and skills of setting up / demonstrating experiments for students, maintenance of laboratory equipment, workshops and computer hardware / software installation / maintenance; |
|
(d) |
Proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and |
|
(e) |
Good communication and interpersonal skills. |

Notes: |
|
(1) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
|
(2) |
Shortlisted candidate(s) may be required to attend and pass a trade test. |
|
(3) |
Appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis. |
|
(4) |
