Major Duties: |
(a) |
To perform teaching duties and assist in supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement; |
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
(c) |
To assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
(d) |
To perform an effective daily operation of the DESIS Lab; |
(e) |
To assist in designing, developing and delivering cross-disciplinary practice-based research projects, outreach research activities and design research workshops; |
(f) |
To assist in preparing design research and funding proposals and support design research data analyses, reports and presentation materials; and |
(g) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars exhibitions and graduation show, where necessary. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree in Interior Design, Architectural Design, Landscape Design, or equivalent; preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
(b) |
Preferably with hands-on experience in the relevant field and experience in practice-based design research; |
(c) |
Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua; |
(d) |
Good teaching, administrative, interpersonal and team building skills; |
(e) |
Good knowledge in design-related software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino 3D, Revit…etc.; and |
(f) |
Good records of linkage with industry / professional bodies would be an advantage. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
(4) |
The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in different locations as assigned. |
