    Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer
    Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee)

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties including preparation and delivery of lectures and workshop sessions, monitor students’ performance in Project Based Learning and Assessment, setting and marking students’ assessments, supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement;
    (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
    (d) To provide support to internal and external stakeholders to facilitate industry and community collaborations for nurturing students’ skills;
    (e) To supervise the student projects that offer educational benefits;
    (f) To provide operational support, including but not limited to organising activities, promotions, admission activities, and departmental operations; and
    (g) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) A relevant recognised degree or equivalent, preferably with relevant professional and post-graduate qualifications;
    (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience;
    (c) Proactive, meticulous, independent, dynamic, self-motivated and able to work under pressure on a tight schedule;
    (d) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; and
    (e) Specific Requirements for Different Subject Areas:
      (i) For Timepiece Technology / Electrical  Technology / Mechanical Engineering: (i) a recognised degree in Engineering;
      (ii) For Project Management: (i) a recognised degree in Engineering / Business Administration / Science;
      (iii) For Design Project / Creative Project: (i) a recognised degree in Engineering / Science / Information Technology / Design.
     
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for the post of Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”.
    (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (3) Shortlisted candidate will be required to take a written assessment.
    (4) Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and/or at different work locations on a need basis.
