Major Duties: |
(a) |
To provide academic leadership in the planning and development of programmes in Music Culture and other related areas; |
(b) |
To manage allocated resources effectively to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmes; |
(c) |
To support the development of the Council and Discipline’s Strategic Initiatives; |
(d) |
To coordinate the development and review of learning and teaching materials / packages, syllabi, assessment materials and facilities; |
(e) |
To perform project management duties and coordinate research activities for the vinyl record library; |
(f) |
To assist in developing new services and programmes that address industry needs; |
(g) |
To perform teaching duties and supervise student projects as needed; and |
(h) |
To assist in overseeing the daily operations of the department. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree in Communication, Media Design or equivalent, preferably with postgraduate qualifications; |
(b) |
At least 5 years’ relevant industry and/or training experience at an appropriate level of responsibility, with comprehensive knowledge in music culture; |
(c) |
Solid experience in managing cultural studies programmes at the higher diploma and/or degree level; |
(d) |
Good linkages with the music industry, and networks with educational institutes and other organisations in professional capacities; |
(e) |
A good understanding of the vision and mission of the Council and the future development of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET); |
(f) |
A proactive attitude, strong initiative and the ability to work independently and effectively in teams; and |
(g) |
Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, including Putonghua. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
