Major Duties: |
(a) |
To oversee the team responsible for database administration, including web servers, application servers, and RAC Oracle / MSSQL / MySQL databases; |
(b) |
To supervise the team in providing continuous database support and technical solutions aligned with requirements; |
(c) |
To plan and execute database design, performance tuning, maintenance, configuration, and upgrades; |
(d) |
To manage the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from various applications; |
(e) |
To establish and implement standards and best practices for database administration; |
(f) |
To lead and oversee the design and implementation of data warehouse / data lake solution; |
(g) |
To provide comprehensive technical support and management for container platforms (e.g., OpenShift and Kubernetes) across on-premise and on-cloud environments; |
(h) |
To lead the migration of proprietary databases to open-source databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, data validation, and performance optimisation; and |
(i) |
To prepare data driven analysis reports strategic planning and decision making for management. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree in information technology (IT), or equivalent professional qualifications; |
(b) |
at least 7 years’ relevant experience at supervisory level in the IT field, preferably including 5 years in database administration; |
(c) |
Applicants with knowledge and experience in any of the following aspects will be an advantage: |

(i) |
SQL for database querying and management; |
|
(ii) |
Database schema design, normalisation, and indexing; capable of creating and managing data models; |
|
(iii) |
Optimising database performance, including query optimisation and indexing strategies, with expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting using tools, e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM); |
|
(iv) |
Database security best practices, such as user account management, data encryption and access control; |
|
(v) |
Oracle Real Application Clusters implementation; |
|
(vi) |
Migrating proprietary databases to open-source platforms such as PostgreSQL using tools like Ora2Pg or native PostgreSQL utilities; |
|
(vii) |
Data Warehouse and / or Data Lake design, implementation, and integration; |
|
(viii) |
Oracle database related certificates such as OCM or OCP; and |
|
(ix) |
Architecture, implementation, and operation of container environment (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker); |
(d) |
Good administrative, interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills; |
(e) |
Proactive attitude, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently and effectively; and |
(f) |
High proficiency in both Chinese and English. |
