Major Duties: |
(a) |
To perform teaching duties in the subject area of maritime studies, including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement; |
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
(d) |
To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and |
(e) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, Institute projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree in marine-related field or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
(b) |
At least 3 years’ relevant industry experience (including experience on board ships) or teaching experience in recognised maritime training institutions; |
(c) |
Certificate of Competency (Class 1) for Ocean-going Deck Officer; |
(d) |
Good presentation, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and |
(e) |
Preferably with good records of linkage with industry / professional bodies. |

Notes: |
(1) |
Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Requirement (a) above but possessing Professional Maritime Qualification at Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 5 may also apply. |
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
(3) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
(4) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and in designated places as assigned. |
