The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). Applications are now invited for the posts of Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer / Project Supervisor for the full-time degree programme of BSc (Hons) International Tourism, Hospitality and Events offered by SHAPE (Chai Wan) in the academic year 2026/27.

Major Duties of Lecturer: |
|
(a) |
To conduct lectures / seminars / tutorial / perform teaching duties at the bachelor’s degree level; |
|
(b) |
To mark and provide guidance / feedback on students’ assessments and projects; |
|
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
|
(d) |
To carry out academic-related administration duties, including serving in academic and other related meetings, and any other relevant duties as assigned; |
|
(e) |
To participate in school projects and functions, where necessary; and |
|
(f) |
To attend professional training and/or seminars as invited by the School, where necessary. |
|

|
Major Duties of Project Supervisor: |
|
(a) |
To conduct tutorials and consultation sessions at bachelor’s degree level; |
|
(b) |
To mark and provide guidance / feedback on students’ projects; |
|
(c) |
To provide guidance on student’s academic writing and supervise students’ research projects and/or dissertation; |
|
(d) |
To carry out academic-related administration duties, including serving in academic and other related meetings; and |
|
(e) |
To attend professional training and/or seminars as invited by the School, where necessary. |

|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised master’s degree in hospitality or tourism discipline. Candidate(s) have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, together with a good record of high-level professional practice, are highly preferable; |
|
(b) |
At least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary level or relevant work experience in the subject area(s) concerned; |
|
(c) |
Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and |
|
(d) |
For the post of Part-time Project Supervisor, experience in research, dissertation / project supervision and in providing advice and coaching in academic writing are highly preferable. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
