Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching duties, including of lectures, tutorials and supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement; |
|
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
|
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
|
(d) |
To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; |
|
(e) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments / campus / departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars, workshops, ceremonies and exhibitions; |
|
(f) |
To coordinate the programme administration, marketing, and publicity of programmes; and |
|
(g) |
To organize various activities to strengthen the network with the industry stakeholders and academic institutions in the Geospatial Science and Land Surveying area. |
|

|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised degree or professional qualification in Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics or relevant discipline, preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification; |
|
(b) |
At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and / or industry experience, preferably with relevant experience in Land Boundary Surveys / Geographic Information System; |
|
(c) |
Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; |
|
(d) |
Experience in curriculum and training material development is preferred; and |
|
(e) |
Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. |

Notes: |
|
(1) |
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of “Term Assistant Lecturer”, at the rank of Teaching Associate. |
|
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
|
(3) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
|
(4) |
The initial posting is in IVE (Sha Tin). The appointee(s) may be posted to other work location(s) to suit the operational needs. |
|
(5) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and / or outside campus. |
