The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It offers top-up bachelor degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree holders in collaboration with overseas universities. Applications are now invited for the post of Part-time Technician for the part-time degree programme of BSc (Hons) Computing offered at SHAPE (Chai Wan) in the academic year 2026/27. |

Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To provide technical support in the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of computers and servers; |
|
(b) |
To provide IT help-desk service, technical support to both staff and students; and |
|
(c) |
To assist in the inventory control of relevant equipment, software licenses and consumables. |
|
|
|
|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A relevant recognised Diploma or Higher Certificate or equivalent; |
|
(b) |
At least 2 years’ relevant work experience; |
|
(c) |
Good knowledge of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software and networking; |
|
(d) |
Ability to work independently and be a good team player; |
|
(e) |
Good interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Chinese; and |
|
(f) |
Candidates with knowledge / skills in one or more of the following areas would be preferable: |
|
|
(i) |
Operating and maintaining computer systems and services on Linux and Windows platforms; |
|
(ii) |
Monitoring computer facilities and network; and |
|
(iii) |
Providing PC and internet and/or network support. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
