    Senior Technician (IT Services)
    Various Operational Units

    Major Duties:
    (a) To lead the installation, administration, and maintenance of campus-wide network infrastructure, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), and virtualisation environments to ensure high availability and security;
    (b) To manage and support specialised academic and research platforms, including high-performance AI computing, cybersecurity training environments, virtual production, and real-time game development engines;
    (c) To manage laboratory facilities and resources, overseeing procurement, inventory control and the technical supervision of renovation, alteration and improvement (AA&I) works;
    (d) To supervise and train technical staff, enforce occupational safety regulations, maintain operational manuals and ensure the overall efficiency of designated units; and
    (e) To oversee enterprise software licensing and campus-wide timetabling systems, while leveraging automation tools, Generative AI, and analytics to continuously improve departmental and operational efficiency.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised diploma or higher certificate in Information Technology / Multimedia or relevant discipline, or equivalent;
    (b) At least 6 years’ relevant work experience in technical support, multimedia content creation or application development;
    (c) Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in ANY of the following:
      (i) Cybersecurity & AI: Cyberbit Range, IXIA/KeySight (PerfectStorm) or Nvidia DGX-1 AI servers;
      (ii) Infrastructure & Engines: Nutanix (Lenovo), Unity3D or Unreal Engine;
      (iii) Campus Operations: Scientia Timetabling, Class Attendance, iBooking or PaperCut;
      (iv) Licensing & Network: Autodesk NLM, Adobe ETLA, Dante AVoIP, H3C iMC or Ruckus Analytics; and
      (v) Automation: PowerShell scripting or the application of Generative AI tools.
    (d) Proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;
    (e) Good supervisory, communication, interpersonal skills and administrative skills; and
    (f) Self-initiative and be a good team player.
       
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis.
    (3) Appointee(s) may be posted to any operational units of the VTC, to carry out similar duties, and have different post titles which are subject to change at the Council’s discretion.
    (4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees who will be posted to Shine Skills Centres will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
