    Deputy Executive Director

    Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is a statutory body and the largest vocational and professional education and training (VPET) provider in Hong Kong. Through its 14 member institutions, the VTC provides valuable credentials for over 200,000 students across its 14 member institutions each year through a full range of pre-employment and in-service programmes with internationally recognised qualifications.
     
    The VTC currently has about 5,200 full time staff.  The Chairman and Members of the Council are appointed by the Chief Executive, including senior government officials and representatives from the industrial, commercial, service, labour and educational sectors.
     
    Major Responsibilities :
    (a) To assist the Executive Director to steer / oversee the Council’s governance and academic / non-academic developments;
    (b) To formulate and review corporate policies / guidelines on the Council's academic structure for the provision of vocational and professional education and training (VPET) programmes at various Qualification Framework (QF) levels;
    (c) To oversee academic programme development / administration, campus administration, corporate service functions and strategic initiatives; and
    (d) To establish and enhance networks and collaborations with major stakeholders in various sectors, particularly in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland.
       
    Qualifications, Experience and Attributes :
    Applicants should possess:
    (a) Substantial managerial experience at a senior level, with solid administrative experience in the public / tertiary education sector;
    (b) Experience and capability to network and engage with Government bureaux / departments, trade and industry as well as professional bodies;
    (c) Strategic and forward thinking, and innovative mindset;
    (d) Strong people, communication, leadership and teamwork skills, and ability to formulate / lead changes;
    (e) Strong business environment and technology acumen, preferably good knowledge of VPET; and
    (f) Excellent command of English and Chinese languages, including Putonghua.

    Benefits :
    We offer a competitive remuneration package to the right candidates. Appointments will be made on a fixed-term contract basis; and renewal is subject to staff performance and service needs.
