    Manager
    Community Engagement Unit

    Major Duties:
    (a) To manage, coordinate and devise plans and strategies for the implementation of VTC’s Initiative – Community Connect with Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) and other related specific projects and tasks;
    (b) To assist Senior Manager in promoting VPET, in the community with internal stakeholders such as Disciplines, and Operational Units and external stakeholders such as community and industry partners;
    (c) To oversee the operation of the Community Engagement Unit;
    (d) To lead the team to organise corporate / mass events under the initiative through liaising and fostering cooperation with all stakeholders;
    (e) To provide secretariat support to the Steering Committee on Community Engagement;
    (f) To build strong relationships with major stakeholders and community partners for enhancing collaboration and engagement;
    (g) To oversee the publicity of Community Connect with VPET at the community level through activities such as newsletter distribution, video production, and other promotional endeavours; and
    (h) To support the VTC strategic works and other new initiatives, which align with the development of the Council.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised relevant degree or relevant professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
    (b) At least 7 years’ relevant experience at appropriate level of responsibility in the fields of project or event management in education sector / corporate communication / social services / communication in public relations sector;
    (c) Strong leadership, organising and management skills and able to work under pressure;
    (d) Good communication skills, strong problem-solving, proactive attitude and ability to work independently;
    (e) Proven experience in networking as well as planning and coordinating promotional and publicity activities; and
    (f) Strong commitment to facilitate the implementation of student projects by engaging relevant stakeholders.
         
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) The post is time-limited in nature up to 31 August 2026.
    (4) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and / or outside campus.
