Major Duties : |
(a) |
To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement; |
(b) |
To assist in carrying out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
(c) |
To organise campus-wide extra-curricular language activities for students; |
(d) |
To coordinate and / or conduct language enhancement activities; |
(e) |
To develop course curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; and |
(f) |
To participate in VTC-wide / departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to research studies, seminars and exhibitions. |

Requirements : |
(a) |
(i) |
A recognised degree in Chinese Language / Chinese Language and Literature / Language Studies (Chinese) / Chinese Linguistics / Education (Chinese) / Translation / Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or as a Foreign Language; OR |
|
(ii) |
A recognised degree in a non-relevant field, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; AND a relevant Chinese teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (major in Chinese). A transcript with course details should be provided for consideration; |
(b) |
Teaching experience is preferred, especially for non-Chinese speaking students; |
(c) |
A good understanding of IGCSE Chinese syllabus; and ability to teach Classical Chinese would be added advantage; |
(d) |
Good communication, interpersonal, organising and administrative skills; |
(e) |
Good problem solving and time management skills; and |
(f) |
A good team player but also be able to work on own initiatives and willing to meet challenges. |

The post is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
(3) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
(4) |
The work location will be Tiu Keng Leng. |
(5) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned. |
(6) |
In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process. |
