Major Duties: |
(a)
|
To develop, oversee and implement a comprehensive system that effectively promotes and manages the reporting of occupational health and safety matters; |
|
(b) |
To be the administrator of the recording system for all reported occurrence; |
(c)
|
To establish the risk assessment methodology including defining risk and severity ratings and criteria for systematic analysis of reported occupational health and safety matters; |
(d)
|
To conduct and advise on risk assessments based on the nature and level of risk associated with identified occupational hazards; |
|
(e) |
To recommend and execute mitigation strategies aimed at preventing the recurrences of incidents and accidents; |
(f)
|
To analyse records of reported occupational health and safety matters, and prepare reports and presentations for management review and sharing with stakeholders; and |
(g)
|
To evaluate the effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancing the reporting system, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and safety reporting. |

|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised degree in Engineering, Science or Occupational Health & Safety related disciplines or equivalent; |
(b)
|
Corporate membership of a relevant professional institution in the field of occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene or equivalent; |
(c)
|
At least 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in educational institutions or major organisations; |
(d)
|
Preferably hold a qualification of Registered Safety Officer / Safety Auditor under the Labour Department or equivalent; |
|
(e) |
Sound management capability and ability to work independently; |
|
(f) |
Good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills at all levels; and |
|
(g) |
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese. |
