Pet Care and Grooming |

Major Duties : |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching duties in the above specialism; |
|
(b) |
To supervise, plan and execute student projects outside practical activities; |
|
(c) |
To perform student development, academic and administrative related duties; |
(d)
|
To provide support to students with special educational needs, including organising various activities and career counselling; |
|
(e) |
To assist in developing teaching and learning materials; |
|
(f) |
To procure, prepare and manage / maintain training materials, tools and equipment; |
(g)
|
To assist in organising various activities including exhibitions, seminars, students’ outside practical work and student admission; and |
|
(h) |
To maintain close contact with industry, commerce, professional bodies and other education institutes. |
|
|
|
Requirements : |
(a)
|
A recognised degree in relevant disciplines, preferably in Pet Care, Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Zoology, Biology, or equivalent; |
|
(b) |
A recognised professional certificate in Pet Care and Grooming is preferred; |
|
(c) |
A good team player and with the ability to work independently under pressure and readiness to embark on self-learning; |
|
(d) |
Good communication, facilitation and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; |
|
(e) |
Strong commitment to serve the youth and manage less academically-inclined students; |
(f)
|
Good understanding of the development of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework and VTC’s Diploma of Vocational Education Programmes; |
(g)
|
Preferably with experience in teaching sub-diploma programmes, curriculum design & development, and implementation of quality assurance policy; and |
|
(h) |
Good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. |

(1) |
The post is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
(2)
|
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |

(3) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English and a trade test. |
(4)
|
The appointees may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and at designated sites to suit the Council’s operational needs. |
(5)
|
In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process. |
