    Part-time Technician
    School for Higher and Professional Education (Chai Wan)

    The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC).  It offers top-up bachelor degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree holders in collaboration with overseas universities.  Applications are now invited for the post of Part-time Technician for the Health and Life Sciences programmes offered at SHAPE (Chai Wan) in the academic year 2024/25.
     
    Major Duties:
    (a) To provide technical supports to teaching activities and be responsible for laboratory equipment installation / maintenance, and training session preparation;
    (b) To assist the lecturer during laboratory, practical classes and field works;
    (c) To assist in the procurement and inventory control of relevant stores and equipment;
    (d) To assist in implementing safety measures in laboratories; and
    (e) To provide technical support to special projects and events.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised diploma or higher certificate in the areas of Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Analytical Science, Food Science, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science, Health and Exercise Science or related disciplines;
    (b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience;
    (c) Knowledge of Safety Management for Dangerous Substances is preferred; and
    (d) Good work initiative and be a good team player.
