The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers over 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. Major Duties: |
The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning, and assessment materials, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electric Vehicle Design and Technology. The appointee should be familiar with at least one of the following areas: |

Battery & Capacity Management; |

Control Engineering; |
- |
Digital Circuit Design; |
- |
Engineering Materials; |
- |
Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure & Power Grid; |
- |
Fuel-Cell Technology / Vehicle; |

Human-Machine Interface; and |
- |
Vehicle Design (Electric Propulsion, Chassis, Body etc.). |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction or a relevant field; |
(b) |
At least 4 years of relevant teaching and/or industry experience; |
(c) |
Good interpersonal and communication skills; |
(d) |
High proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua; S/he must also fulfil one of the following criteria: |

(i) |
Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or |
|
(ii) |
Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or |
|
(iii) |
At least 3 years’ work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or |
|
(iv) |
Achieved at least Grade 2 Level B in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work. |

Notes: |
(1) |
The medium of instruction is Putonghua. |
(2) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a teaching demonstration in Putonghua at the interview. |
(3) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary. |
(4) |
The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
(5) |
The appointee(s) will work at the Chai Wan Campus. |
