    Executive Assistant II (Library Service)
    Various Operational Units

    Major Duties:
    (a) To provide circulation counter services and assist users with their inquiries and needs;
    (b) To acquire, catalogue, and process library materials, equipment and facilities;
    (c) To promote the library by designing notices and graphics, managing social media, and organising library activities;
    (d) To support the operation and maintenance of library equipment and facilities, and compile usage statistics;
    (e) To conduct book shelving, shelf-reading, stocktaking and weeding exercise; and
    (f) To handle general enquiries and perform general clerical duties.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) (i) Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, or equivalent^; OR
      (ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in 5 subjects including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE); OR
      (iii) Diploma of Applied Education + Maths Plus / Diploma Yi Jin + Maths Plus / Project Yi Jin; OR
      (iv) A recognised Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR
      (v) A recognised Associate Degree / Higher Diploma or above.
    * Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2 / Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.
    ^ “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in HKDSE Examination are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects.
    (b) Proficiency in computer software application, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams and Chinese word processing; preferably proficiency in video editing software and graphic design software;
    (c) Proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua;
    (d) Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills;
    (e) Ability to work independently and be a good team player;
    (f) Good work initiative and customer-orientated; and
    (g) Possession of relevant library qualifications and experience with Integrated Library Systems, such as Alma, will be an advantage.
     
    Notes:
    (1) The appointee(s) will be required to work irregular hours or shifts and perform duties on Saturdays when necessary.
    (2) The appointee(s) may be posted to any operational units to meet the Council’s operational needs.
    (3) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong
    Police Force, all prospective appointees who will be posted to Shine Skills Centres will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
