    Term Assistant Lecturer (Beauty Care)
    Youth College (Tin Shui Wai)

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties in one or both of the above specialism(s);
    (b) To supervise, plan and execution of student projects outside practical activities;
    (c) To perform student development, academic and administrative related duties;
    (d) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (e) To provide support to students with special educational needs, including organizing various activities and career counselling;
    (f) To assist in developing teaching and learning materials;
    (g) To procure, prepare and manage/maintain training materials, tools & equipment;
    (h) To assist in organizing various activities including exhibitions, seminars, students’ outside practical work & student admission; and
    (i) To maintain close contact with industry, commerce, professional bodies and other education institutes; and develop new services and programmes to meet the needs of the industry.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in relevant disciplines;
    (b) An international recognized professional certificate in Beauty Care / Make up;
    (c) A good team player and with the ability to work independently under pressure and readiness to embark on self-learning;
    (d) Good communication, facilitation and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
    (e) Strong commitment to serve the youth and manage less academically-inclined students;
    (f) Good understanding of the New Senior Secondary Academic Structure, the development of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework and VTC’s Diploma of Vocational Education Programmes;
    (g) Preferably with experience in teaching sub-diploma courses, curriculum design & development, and implementation of quality assurance policy; and
    (h) Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage.
     
    Notes:
    (1) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English.
    (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (3) The appointees may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and / or outside campus.
    (4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
    (5) The appointee is subject to posting to different sites to suit the Council’s operational needs.
