Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement; |
|
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
|
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
|
(d) |
To assist in validation and accreditation of the programmes; and |
|
(e) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. |
|
|
|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised degree in Graphic Design / Fine Art / Visual Art / Illustration / Digital Media, or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
|
(b) |
At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and / or industry experience, preferably with international exposure and at an appropriate level of responsibility; |
|
(c) |
Good interpersonal and team building skills; |
|
(d) |
Good communication and presentation skill in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; |
|
(e) |
Proficient with knowledge and hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas would be an advantage: |
|
|
(i) |
For Graphic Design: (i) editorial and narrative illustration / digital and moving image / publication and design integration; |
|
|
(ii) |
For Illustration: (i) digital illustration / traditional media / editorial illustration / storyboarding / character design; |
|
|
(iii) |
For Fine Art: (i) oil painting / art history / curatorial and exhibition organising; |
|
|
(iv) |
For 3D visualisation: (i) 3D visualisation for character design, packaging design, premium product design; |
|
(g) |
Records in organising events, exhibition, large-scale projects like mural design or illustrative promotional campaigns and linkage with industry / professional bodies would be an advantage. |

Notes: |
|
(1) |
Applicants with less relevant experience and / or qualification may be considered for the post of Part-time Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
|
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
|
(3) |
Shortlisted candidate will be required to take a written assessment. |
|
(4) |
Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis. |
