|
Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To promote collaboration, maintain and foster sound industry networks with, Training Boards, Working Parties, and VTC Member Institutions / Operational Units to support the Council’s activities, projects and initiatives; |
|
(b) |
To engage the industry partners in the planning, organising and delivery of conferences, seminars, visits, competitions and other activities to promote VPET and the latest industrial knowledge and practices; |
|
(c) |
To provide professional secretariat support to Training Boards, Sub-Boards, Working Parties and related committees, including the preparation of meeting papers, minutes, correspondence and related documentation; |
|
(d) |
To undertake industry engagement activities including manpower surveys and updates, trade tests, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and other industry intelligence functions pertaining to the trades covered by the assigned Training Boards; |
|
(e) |
To drive the development and implementation of web-based platforms and digital solutions, including AI-enabled tools, in support of the Council's operational and industry engagement functions; |
|
(f) |
To assist in the planning, development and delivery of new projects or large-scale VPET-related events, such as conferences, forums, award ceremonies and visits, to meet the strategic needs of the Council; and |
|
(g) |
To lead and supervise a team of staff to ensure quality execution of duties. |
|
|
|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised degree or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification. Candidate with at least one qualification relevant to Engineering / Healthcare and Life Sciences / Information Technology / Innovation and Technology would be an advantage; |
|
(b) |
At least 7 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level, preferably in the tertiary or vocational education sector or in a related industry-engagement organisation; |
|
(c) |
Applicants with the following knowledge / experience would have added advantage: |
|
|
(i) |
good knowledge of committee work and governance processes; experience in secretariat support to boards, committees or working groups; |
|
|
(ii) |
good knowledge of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework and Government-subsidised training schemes; |
|
|
(iii) |
good knowledge of emerging technologies and digital trends; experience in development or implementation of information systems / digital solutions; and |
|
|
(iv) |
good knowledge and experience in project and event management, including large-scale conferences, forums, ceremonies and visits; experience in planning, coordinating and executing marketing, publicity or school networking activities in relevant industries; |
|
(d) |
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua, with good presentation and communication skills; |
|
(e) |
Strong interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with different stakeholders; and |
|
(f) |
Self-motivated and resilient, and the ability to work independently under pressure and within tight deadlines. |

|
(1) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
|
(2) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and / or outside the office. |
|
(3) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
