|
Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching duties, and assist in supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork, placement; |
|
(b) |
To assist in the coordination and promotion of local and regional skills competitions, and support the training and coaching of Competitors, including reviewing their performance and providing recommendations; |
|
(c) |
To liaise with industry partners to provide performance assessment and training support for Competitors; |
|
(d) |
To assist in the development of programme curriculum and preparation of teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
|
(e) |
To support student and academic administration, and coordinate promotional activities related to skills and VPET in secondary schools and relevant organisations; and |
|
(f) |
To provide support in departmental activities, projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions, and participate in industrial attachments and related activities. |

|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised degree in Jewellery Design or equivalent professional qualifications, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
|
(b) |
Preferably with relevant teaching / industry experience / skills in more than one of the following areas: |
|
|
(i) |
Jewellery workshop management and operation; |
|
|
(ii) |
Jewellery making technique; |
|
|
(iii) |
Jewellery gem stone setting knowledge; |
|
|
(iv) |
Sketching and Rendering; |
|
|
(v) |
Jewellery Production, Materials Applications and Processing; |
|
|
(vi) |
CAD for jewellery; |
|
|
(vii) |
Branding and marketing; |
|
|
(viii) |
Gemmology; |
|
(c) |
Good knowledge of the latest trends and practices in jewellery making and jewellery design; |
|
(d) |
Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; and |
|
(e) |
Good records of linkages with the industry / professional bodies would be an advantage. |

(1) |
The post is at the rank of Teaching Associate. |
|
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |

(3) |
Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment. |
|
(4) |
The post is time-limited in nature up to 31 October 2028. |
|
(5) |
The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours in different locations as assigned. |
