As the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) Result Release Day draws closer, parents’ support becomes most crucial when their children are planning for their future after completing the HKDSE. To this end, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) continues to join hands with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) to co-host an online Parents’ Programme this year on 27 June (Saturday). Leveraging the digital platform, experts come together to provide comprehensive study information and admission figures for parents and HKDSE candidates, and share tips on effective mutual communication to help relieve the pressure of students on the results release day and other possible challenges.

Themed “HKDSE Parenting Tips”, this year’s Parents’ Programme will be broadcast live for FREE. Parents who care about their children’s future can stay tuned at home to get valuable tips on both the diverse articulation pathways and effective mutual communication skills. (Please refer to Annex for details.)

Kicking off the talk, Joseph TSANG Chi-to, Chairperson of Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters, will analyse the latest study information and key figures. He will also draw on his first-hand, extensive counselling experience to help parents and HKDSE candidates prepare for the future.

In the second session, Sam WONG Tak-sum, former Head Coach of the Hong Kong Windsurfing Team, will share his experience as a veteran athlete and coach in coping with the tremendous pressure of mega competitions. He will also give advice on ways to de-stress and develop positive attitudes to help HKDSE candidates and their parents to face up to  results release day at ease.

The online Parents’ Programme 2020 welcomes parents to register for free. Interested parties can register at: www.vtc.edu.hk/ero/talk or call 2836 1888 for enquiries.
