With the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (DSE) drawing to a close, it is time for candidates to plan their progression pathway. The Vocational Training Council (VTC) will mount the VTC Programme Selection Info Day this Saturday (7 May) at the campus of member institutions Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) Lee Wai Lee. The current cohort of DSE candidates will be introduced to tailored programmes at levels including Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma of Foundation Studies and Diploma of Vocational Education, where they can obtain information on further study and apply for programmes on site. On the event day, a number of programme selection and discipline talks are planned and tips on study planning and programme selection as well as employment data will be shared with DSE candidates and parents. They will also be introduced to the Earn and Learn Pilot Scheme that integrates both classroom learning and on-the-job training, where apprentices can make a stable income and enjoy incentive allowances. Students can also chat to the teaching faculty of different disciplines to obtain first hand information on study and employment opportunities.
